You are Here. Right now.
At Non-Tas, we do not take a position on your choice in recovery from breast cancer. We honor your choice to proceed with reconstructive surgery and augmentation, or living your life without your ta-tas. Non-Tas is a play on the word Ta-Tas. Redefine your beauty. For you!
Non-Tas mission is to redefine and uplift Body Image. Your journey through cancer is intensely personal. The outcome is often a shared experience of loss, grief, shame and a sense of solitude. Non-Tas is here to assist women in changing that paradigm. You are at this very moment...
Perfect. Beautiful. Join the tribes of Thrivers who have traveled before you. Share and learn from the wisdom that is Women. Through virtual and in-person conversations, fittings, fashion shows and retreats, Non-Tas offers you a variety of engagement you choose that feels right for you.
April's vision is to develop a sensible and economical clothing line for women, Ta-Tas or Non-Tas. We proudly support the mission to change age-old stigmas of a woman's body type by reinventing fashion choice. Our line is specifically designed to highlight fellow breastie bodies that have undergone medical procedures, including mastectomies. Non-Tas is turning that HOURGLASS upside down, turning heads with vibrant fashions that will reach each woman exactly where she is, helping her SHINE from the inside out.
A true Non-Tas Transformation!
Long-time creator, connector and advocate, April founded Non-Tas – a line of clothing and knowledge that your body is a beautiful mosaic of your life stories – in January of 2021. The combination of April’s degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and experience practicing Reiki, Mysticism, Zen Buddhism and tarot reading exemplifies the expertise, consciousness and spiritual nature, with which she manifested her greatest vision yet. Drawing on ten years creating in tech through aprilsdesign providing web building and internet marketing, April is shifting her talents to collectively build an on-line community and culture for Non-Tas members with you! A survivor herself after 2 mastectomies at different times, for different reasons, April eventually found her way to Gestaltism – a phenomena or organized structure of every psychological, physiological, and behavioral experience one has in relationship to its total form rather than its parts. After losing her breast “lady parts” and all society assigns with them. She has a message for her fellow breastless besties…. You are Perfect. You are Whole. Non-Tas is much more than a clothing line. It is a consciousness and a movement for ALL Women as they show up and join in; that’s with Non-Tas or Ta-Tas and ALL!
True to Gestalism, April’s work life, hobbies and leisure are the parts that make up her healthy and active lifestyle as a whole. She keeps busy with cultural travel, caring for her client’s animal friends, jewelry design and upcycling DIY projects. Endlessly curious, she thirsts for new ways to feed her mind, body and soul as she desires to travel this part of her journey and recovery inspiring others to live their most loving, beautiful life – to not only Survive, but THRIVE! And that Double D buck doesn’t stop there…. April has plans with you and the Non-Tas movement to aide Mother EARTH in her return to thriving at hercore. "The entire earth needs connection. We are starved and starving ourselves. We need to move toward knowing we are all connected in order to make it through this Darma."
YOU are a precious resource! Designs made to "flatter" your new body. Upcycled from threads that still have life in them while transforming you and bring a new upcycle to your wardrobe! They are a go-to item for any occasion! Now you can have just a few stunning and defining pieces to help you feel just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.
We live in a disposable world. The losses experienced with our diminishing resources makes things more expensive. The therapies involved with cancer, mastectomies and becoming flat are costly. Put yourself into a pre-chosen article of clothing for flatties! This store can help both you and the earth.
DD, Double Duty!!
Many times identity and the feeling of being a "woman" can be lost and it is exacerbated by the dogma that everyone should look a certain way. Let's break that mold and define a new, more accepting looser mold that accepts you as you are! Wu Wei, Wabi Sabi for the body. You are beautiful, life is always in transformation. You are perfectly imperfect. As it should be.
This is the meat of the whole, the vulnerable parts, the pretty, ugly and where you might relate a little to what is being said.
I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to reach out and ask anything
